PRAYER IS NOT ENOUGH!

PRAYER IS NOT ENOUGH!

PRAYER IS NOT ENOUGH!

Hey SOG (Soldier Of God),

It’s another beautiful week, how are you today?

You might see some words in caps, but I promise you I’m not yelling.. It’s just for emphasis. Okay I’m glad we’re on the same page with that!

Earlier this week, I was meditating and talking to God about what He would have me send to you this week. As much as I would love every one of my emails to be fun and encouraging, most importantly, It needs to be what God wants us to know each week (Including me, lol I’m not about to be left out. We’re both in this together!). Especially the tough words He needs us to hear, timely words, words that communicate the heart of God and speaking the TRUTH regardless of whether you want to hear it or not. God loves us but does not spoil us. It’s better He hits us with the TRUTH to save our souls than pamper us to HELL. So let’s get started!

Some months ago, I found myself praying more than studying the word. It got to a point where I would pray unconsciously, and I would later catch myself praying, and I bless God that it still happens. I really loved how the river was flowing but I wasn’t making time for the Word because at that moment it felt so easy to pray than to study the word (for some people it’s the opposite). So the Holy Spirit (so sweet) sat me down to talk to me about this place I was in, and He helped me. I’ll be sharing two with you today and the next few weeks.. If you ever find yourself in this phase or you’re in it right now, please pay attention because I believe this will bless you!

The Holy Spirit said…….

The reason it's easier to pray than to study the Word of God is because..

1.) The devil knows that once he can take the Word of God (you know what, let’s call it WOG. Yes, I love acronyms. From you, your prayer will lack potency. It will be VERY POSSIBLE to pray AMISS. Even when we pray in the Spirit, we still can not live the word of God out of it because the word of God is God Himself in written form. As we pray in the Spirit, we are going on a journey with the Holy Ghost, and most times, He drops a scripture in our hearts. God will always take us back to His word. God and His word are ONE. There is no separation (John 1:1-3).

The word of God gives your prayer the power it needs because “the word of God in your mouth is as powerful as God’s word in His mouth!” The bible says in Revelations 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death.” The word of our testimony is the WORD OF GOD, but how do you overcome the devil without knowing what the WORD OF GOD says? A believer that does NOT know the Word of God CANNOT overcome.

2.) The devil also knows that for a believer to be victorious in Christ Jesus, Studying, Knowing, Meditating, Understanding, Praying and Living the Word has to be the life of that believer. We can’t do one and leave the other. Before we can know the word, we have to study it (open your bible and read it regardless of whether you feel like it or not). From knowing what the word of God says you begin to meditate on it - (Joshua 1:8). As we meditate on the word of God, the more the Holy Spirit begins to open up things to us and that’s where understanding takes place in our spirit man (Ephesians 1:18-21).

As we understand the Word through the help of the Holy Spirit, we begin to desire the manifestation of that word in our lives and that’s where we get into the place of prayer. As we pray, situations will meet us in a place where we begin to utilize the word of God and live it as we ought to. This is the life we have been called to and we have the grace for it through the help of the Holy Spirit.

So, the devil has no problem with you praying but he has a problem with a believer that does all of this. So in order for us not to get to a place where we pray with all the arsenals the Lord has given us, the devil wouldn’t even let us start but we have to resist his urge and his tactics (James 4:7). As you study the word of God with the Holy Spirit, God begins to lead you to scriptures where it has been written of you (Hebrews 10:7), He begins to show you how to pray from the word and how to strategically pray concerning whatever it is you’re going through. He will guide you with His Word.

I have many more to share with you but this is all for now. Until we chat again next week. God bless you and keep staying in God.
